Soma yoga is a combination of somatics and therapeutic yoga. It focuses on a re-education of the brain and muscles to address habitual patterns in the body, mind, and spirit.
Follow cues using gentle and mindful movements to go into the tightness. Pay attention to contraction, and most importantly, pay attention to releasing tightness and tension.
Create space to discover a new understanding of ease.
Be led through physical postures, breath awareness, and meditation techniques to release tension and calm the nervous system. This allows the body and mind to release stress and anxiety. These gentle movements stimulate the brain to create more new patterns.
This introductory experience gives you a foundation to continue practicing on your own.
Please wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing or yoga apparel, and bring a yoga mat.
Three CEU credits available from Yoga Alliance for yoga instructors.
